Upcoming Teaching at Chicago KTC, June 7-9

All sentient beings, without exception, have buddha nature, the inherent potential of all beings to attain the supreme and perfect enlightenment of buddhahood. This enlightened essence is present in all sentient beings. Although the beings themselves undergo many different types of change -- happiness, suffering, birth, old age, sickness, and finally death -- no change occurs in the buddha nature itself. Our innate buddha nature remains forever the changeless seed of happiness and enlightenment. This weekend course will introduce one to the importance of understanding our Buddha Nature and how it applies to one's own meditation practice.
Chicago KTC has the honor of hosting Khenpo Ugyen Tenzin, a highly learned teacher, who will be explaining the profound topic of "Buddha Nature". Khenpo-la will continue teaching from Rangjung Dorje's (the Third Karmapa) treatise on Buddha Nature (Nyingpo Tenpa). One of the most important Karma Kagyu texts on this subject. Kenpo Ugyen demonstrates excellence in his capacity to present authentic teachings on virtually any subject of Buddhism in a manner appropriate for all audiences, challenging and encouraging students at all levels of experience.
Khenpo Ugyen Tenzin received his training at Karma Nalanda Institute and Sampurnanand Sanskrit University. He was appointed Senior Khenpo at Nalanda Institute by His Eminence Gyaltsap Rinpoche in 1997. Later he served as Khenpo in Bhutan and then went into retreat until His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa asked Khenpo Ugyen Tenzin to help Karma Triyana Dharmachakra where he arrived on May 27, 2005.
